Deruchette's List
Who is Deruchette (Day-roo-kett-uh) and Why Does She Have a List?
Deruchette is a character in Victor Hugo's novel The Toilers of the Sea. Mrs. Andelin identified Hugo's character as an exemplar of both the Angelic and Human qualities in her book Fascinating Womanhood. Of Deruchette, Mrs. Andelin wrote that she was an "Angela Human" paragon who possessed especially the traits of character, domesticity, serenity, girlishness, a fresh and feminine appearance, and joie de vivre (Fascinating Womanhood, 1965, pp. 26-7).
Deruchette's List has come about due to the demise of Yahoo! Group that Cynthia hosted for nearly twenty years. Since Mrs. Andelin's teachings are wildly counter-cultural, a real need exists for women who embrace those teachings to meet other like-hearted ladies to give and to receive support.
What is Deruchette's List?
Deruchette's List is a private, members-only club, a space where kindred-spirited feminine and fascinating ladies can bond,
build friendships, and improve their lives.
Together, with other “Deruchettes,” you may do the following:

feel relatively safe (only approved members are allowed)

discuss any topic related to Mrs. Andelin’s teachings in a private, moderated forum

have access to our monthly online book club

have access to exclusive guides and resources

share your life with other ladies, giving and receiving support
Be advised, however, that Deruchette's List is not a place to:

tear down your husband or suitor

post “adults only” material of any kind

post political or religious content

attempt to convert someone to your politics or religion

libel, slander, or otherwise “backbite” any other person

advertise or publicize a business, cause, or individual
Note that the prohibitions include DMs to other members as well as postings to the group. Also note that violation of the rules will result in termination of your membership and that NO REFUND will be given.
We meet on a private platform where we aim to unite with other women who seek to improve themselves, to be closer to their husbands (or suitors, for single ladies), and to have support as we live our lives according to the teachings of Helen Berry Andelin.
