About Cynthia

Cynthia discovered Helen Andelin's life-changing books after eavesdropping on her female relatives' critique session of same. For Cynthia, reading Fascinating Womanhood and The Fascinating Girl was like a lost ship encountering a lighthouse on a cold, foggy night. The books gave Cynthia a guide to follow in order to achieve her goal of a happy life and a happy marriage.

Many years later, finding herself at loose ends as a young mother in central Utah, Cynthia undertook a formal study of marriage and the family by completing a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Family Science (Human Development Emphasis) at Brigham Young University and rediscovered Mrs. Andelin's books in the University bookstore.

In 2004, Cynthia was authorized to teach classes by Helen Andelin, now of blessed memory, and in 2012, Brian Andelin, now also of blessed memory, confirmed his support of her teaching with his late mother's books. In 2016, Dixie Forsyth began authorizing teachers, and Cynthia was authorized by Ms. Forsyth to teach.

On July 22, 2017, Cynthia was informed of the new requirement of teaching with Ms. Forsyth's book, which Cynthia did not wish to do as she had no acquaintance with the book. Therefore, on that date, Cynthia requested to have her name removed from Ms. Forsyth's website. Cynthia has nothing whatsoever to do with the Forsyth family but wishes them well. Cynthia continues to teach using Mrs. Andelin's books and the original pamphlets as textbooks, among other worthy texts.

Also in 2017, Cynthia published her teaching materials in a curriculum: A Fascinating Companion. In 2019, she expanded the original curriculum to include a workbook and additional commentary.

Cynthia loves teaching Marriage Enrichment and Homemaking Classes, perceiving that she is fulfilling her calling as an older woman (Titus 2:3-5). She says, "Helping ladies to love their husbands and their children and to keep their homes warms my heart."
